Muhith for stopping political activities on campuses

Finance Minister AMA Muhith today said political activities should be stopped on university campuses across the country in a bid to establish education friendly atmosphere.
He was talking to reporters after visiting the under constructedCentral Shaheed Minar in Sylhet city this afternoon.
Referring to a recent clash between two groups of Bangladesh Chhatra Leagueat Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sust)in Sylhet, he said it wasone of the best universitiesin the country where students did not face any session jam.
The minister said clashes are taking places at the educational institutions frequently as political parties have spread their activities to the university campuses, reports our Sylhet correspondent.
“The political parties have to be ousted from the university campuses and now we will have to think about it,” he added.
About the country’s position in the world corruption index, he said corruption comes down when people pass throughsmooth financial condition.
“Our financial condition has to be strengthened further to make the effort a success,” he noted.
The Shaheed Minar is expected to be inaugurated on December 10.
Former city mayor Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran, also the AL city unit president, Zila parishad administrator AbdujJahir Chowdhury Sufian and other local AL leaders were present at that time.
