Mother, 2 kids burnt to death in Ctg

A mother and her two children were burnt to death when a fire broke out at their house in Fatikchhari upazila of Chittagong early today.

Deceased are: Sumi Nath, 25, wife of Dubai expatriate Milon Nath; their daughter Barsha Nath, 3, and one and a half years old son Shrabon Nath.

Sumi along with her two children used to live at their house in Pachpukuria village of Sundarpur union in the upazila.

Originating at the kitchen around 12:30am, the fire soon engulfed the thatched house of the victims while they were asleep, said Ataur Rahman Bhuiyan, officer-in-charge of Fatikchhari Police Station.

They got trapped inside the house and were burnt alive, he added.
