Most accused 'moving freely' even after 70 days

Over 70 days into the incident, police are yet to arrest the prime accused and his aides in the Hindu farmer Bholanath killing case at Nawdabash village in Kaliganj upazila.
The OC of Kaliganj police station and also the IO of the case are showing indifference to the case while the accused are moving freely in the area, alleged Bholanath's son Subhas Chandra Roy.
Our family members are passing days amid uncertainty and fear of fresh attack, he added.
Relatives and locals said, about 45 to 50 alleged ruling party men swooped on Bholanath, 65, and his family members as they tried to resist them from fishing in the water body belonging to Bholanath and his brother Manindra Nath Roy at the village on October 9.
Bholanath died at Rangpur Medical College Hospital two days after the attack.
The gang also vandalised and looted three houses of the two Hindu families.
Following a case filed against 48 people, police arrested six people including Jubo League leader Rezaul Karim Reza on October 12.
However, main accused Reza got bail after four days while the five others are still in the district jail.
Contacted, OC Manzur Ali refuting the allegation said, they were raiding different areas to the arrest the prime accused and his cohorts.
