Mob beats teenager to death

A mob beat a 15-year-old boy to death allegedly for stealing construction materials from an under-construction building in the capital's Kalyanpur early yesterday.
The deceased Md Imran, son of Abdul Malek of Bhola, resided in Pora Bosti in the area. He used to collect scrap from garbages. 
Moinul Islam, officer-in-charge (Investigation) of Mirpur Police Station, said the mob beat him severely and dumped him on a road allegedly for stealing plain sheets and tin from the building in the area two days ago.
Locals found him before Kalyanpur Girls High School early yesterday and took him to a local hospital where doctor declared him dead, police added. 
Police is still investigating the theft allegation. 
Victim's cousin Jewel alleged that Abul Kashem, security-in-charge of Kallyanpur Samaj Kallyan Parishad (north region) along with many locals held Imran at 8:30pm on Sunday and tortured him overnight.
Police detained Abul for interrogation.
The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for an autopsy.
