Mitford interns continue work abstention
Patients at Mitford Hospital went through sufferings as interns are continuing their indefinite strike for the second consecutive day today demanding withdrawal of a case filed by Ekushey Television (ETV).
The interns went for the wildcat work abstention programme yesterday hours after the authorities of ETV, a private satellite TV channel, sued the director and four interns of the hospital on charges of assaulting its reporters and videographers.
The interns refrained themselves from duty since morning and also brought out a procession on the campus of Sir Salimullah Medical College at noon.
On Saturday evening, interns at the hospital allegedly beat up three reporters and three videographers of ETV when they went there to report on alleged negligence of doctors.
They also confined the journalists to the director's room for several hours.
