Millien due next week
Last season's treble-winners Sheikh Russel KC are flying in Haitian national footballer Pascal Millien within a week, confirmed the club's president Nurul Alam Chowdhury yesterday.
The 27-year-old attacking midfielder, who played his last international match against El Salvador on July 15, 2013, has appeared 12 times for his country and scored a single goal.
"Everything regarding signing Millien has been finalised," said Chwodhury. "We are now thinking how to ensure the Bangladesh visa through a third country as there is no embassy of Bangladesh in Haiti."
Millien, who played for Irish First Division side Silgo Rovers last season, is likely to travel from America to Dhaka and arrive here in time for Sheikh Russel's next league match against Brothers Union on January 12.
Despite losing much of the strength in the pre-season transfer market, defending champions Sheikh Russel lead the league table with two successive wins.
The inclusion of Millien will add much potency to the attack line of Sheikh Russel, who have already signed up three quality booters from Uruguay, Jamaica and France. The club is also planning for another player from France.
