WANDERLUST WALLS

Maps can be modern or vintage, bold or subtle – anything that suits your fancy. You can bring any empty wall to life and make a graphic statement by decorating it with maps. Here are just a few ideas to give you some decorating direction:
FRAME THEM
Print out or collect maps of your favorite places and create a gallery style wall in your house. Try to collect fun and colorful maps of different sizes. Make the frames quirky and flamboyant and if that is not your cup of tea, frame your maps in sleek black or warm teak.
RECYCLED CORKBOARD MAPS
Print and cut out a map of the city or country that you want to mount on your walls. Add a thin coating of glue on the back of your map and paste it onto a piece of corkboard. Cut the corkboard according to the outline of the map. (Tip: for precision use an X-Acto knife). Lastly, hang the map onto your wall. This idea is fun and versatile because you can use stick pins to mark the places you love or have visited on the map itself!
BREAK IT UP
If you get your hands on a large map, you may want to consider breaking the map up into smaller pieces and framing each piece separately. Once you've done that, put the map back together on your wall like a jigsaw puzzle (make sure to keep some gap between each piece) to make a bold and artistic statement.
