Styling as second nature!
Is there any man who's born stylish? We don't think so.
It takes years of effort to achieve precision, and a trademark is created of being stylish, even in casual clothes. Effortless styling thus becomes a habit, and we at Star Lifestyle have met one such man who applies all the basic principles to accentuate his style to a point that he no longer has to try, Reza Ameen, a familiar name in Dhaka's fast lane scenario, sat for an exclusive interview on his approach to fashion and styling.
Reza Ameen —
"Comfort is a big part when I select my clothing. Rather than following a trend, I'd be more involved in looking for items that suit me well, given the deshi weather," says the CEO of a reputed private firm.
Inquired whether he always had an inclination towards fashion or not, Ameen responded with a smirk — "I guess a little bit. Since I inherited my knack for shoes from my grandfather, and then my father, so it does go a long way into the past."
While continuing our conversation, Ameen agrees to being a shoe enthusiast! "The first thing I notice whenever I meet a new person are their shoes. If the selection is nice, I already feel an affinity towards that particular person," said Ameen.
As we get along our conversation, he discusses the importance of looking good.
"It's a very simple equation, if you dress well– you feel good. If someone compliments you — even better! Who'd want to give up on that?" counters the casually stylish man.
Already in his fifties, he still looks as charming as can be. So we had questions for him regarding the many shoddy new gen youngsters who make the term style and fashion seem as unseemly as possible.
Amused by the humorous undertone, Ameen laughed hard, "Who said they are not stylish? The young men of today spend quite a lot of time on their hair. The styles they come up with are quite interesting!" confessed Ameen.
Before we concluded the tête-à-tête, we asked the stylish Ameen how he would dress for the office on any given day.
He did not take time to answer. "A typical day would be a full sleeve formal shirt with khakis. And a nice pair of comfort shoes. Just that!"
If we learned anything from this particular encounter, it was that being stylish does not take too much time, or too much thought. It just comes naturally. As long as a person is comfortable in what they are wearing they can easily be called a 'casually stylish' person!
