The best thing about food is that you do not have to be a foodie to love food. Even the skinniest person who has no appetite has a favourite food. And other than a number of desserts and certain food, most food tastes better warm.
Of course, you can always cook or warm your food on the stove, but there’s a second option — the microwave oven. Of course, one might wonder— why a microwave oven?
There are several answers to that. First of all, microwave cooks the food evenly. The name microwave explains how it does so.
It refers to an oven which uses small waves — sandwiched between radio waves and infrared radiation on the electromagnetic spectrum —to cook your food. Because it uses small (micro) waves, it works in the exact same way as the sun warming your skin.
Imagine the scene — you have a frozen chicken that you want to cook. but frozen food cannot be cooked, and it usually takes a while to defrost.
An easy solution is to just toss it inside a microwave and in roughly three to six minutes, you will have it defrosted and ready to cook.
The good thing about using a microwave is that you do not need to move or flip the food around while cooking. Life is busy as is, and help is difficult to find. What we want is good food (especially home cooked food) and that too, ready in time, easily accessible.
Just prepare your dish with all the necessary ingredients, put it in the microwave, set the timer — and in a few minutes, when the timer chimes familiarly, voila! Your dish is ready.
Because microwave heats the food by using waves, it does not need to heat up the food layer by layer. It can heat up each and every molecule at the same time, which means you can cook much faster.
This can be really useful during the month of Ramadan. Waking up and cooking from scratch can be quite a task at sehri. You can just use this quick cooking feature to get your dish prepared faster during sehri and iftar. It saves time and energy.
If you want to bake a cake, or have a party with grilled or tandoori chicken, you might want to use the microwave to get it evenly cooked and that is so much better than a half burned-half raw cake.
Most microwave ovens come with a number of pre-included quick settings which are very useful when you are on the clock.
