Sayambara by Shirin Karim
Sayambara is known for their minimalistic approach to their designs and bringing out the personality of the individual wearing their designer items - rather than focusing just only on the dress itself.
Shirin Karim has been designing saris, shalwar kamiz and kurti for Sayambara for the past 12 years. It is a homegrown business, mainly attracting customers who are interested in simple, yet elegant clothing. Sayambara does only one exhibiton every year, where they showcase their products on a broad scale; along with one exhibiton that is held in Bangladesh, Shirin Karim also holds exhibitions abroad, like Delhi, London, etc.
Sayambara aims to promote more 'deshi' products and so all the saris designed are made with clothes made in Bangladesh. She works with applique, cut work, nakshi kantha as well as embriodery designs. The designs are usually worked on cotton, half silk, pure silk, Jamdani, etc.
Sayambara maintains their reputation of being exclusive and one sari design is not made on more than two pieces, and thus each piece has its own charisma to it. Sayambara designs blouse exclusively for each of their customers and the materials are matched and crafted by their expert tailors.
And since Shirin Karim is a fashionista herself, customers are always welcome to ask fashion tips from the designer herself! Their saris range from Tk 3,000 to Tk 20,000 and their shalwar kamiz prices range from Tk 3,000 to Tk 10,000.
So, if you're looking for simple and minimal approach to looking your best, a visit to Sayambara is a must for you, since fashion is all about feeling good about what you wear and feeling confident in it!
