Reckless motorcycle driving
The Daily Star published a photo captioned “Warning not working” on its front page on April 19. The photo depicts a reckless motorcycle driving on a Dhaka footpath. Motorbike is a useful vehicle for one to move quickly around this congested city, but often motorcyclists use pavements to drive despite a high court's ruling prohibiting this. In addition, their tendency to reckless driving, violating traffic rules and overtaking other bikes is dangerous. I urge the authorities concerned to implement the traffic rules at every level. This will reduce the likelihood of accidents and also help reduce the city's congestion.
