Feni University organises “Career Talk” on Law

After graduation, law students have a wide range of job opportunities to select from. For many, this can turn into a daunting task due to the lack of appropriate instructions or support. With this in mind, the Feni University Law Students' Forum (FULSF) organised a "Career Talk on Law" on April 5, 2023, at the FU Hall Room. The event featured attendees who were law school students.
Mr. Forhad Ahmed, a lecturer in the law department at Feni University and the coordinator of FULSF and the Career Talk organising committee, gave the opening address to start the event. The Department's newest part-time professor, Prof. A.B.M. Abu Noman, spoke on the opportunities and adaptability that the legal profession provides. He commended the organising team for setting up this timely event to enhance the students' soft skills, a requirement for obtaining employment in the professional sector.
Afterward, as a Special Guest, Prof. Taibul Hoque, Honorable Treasurer at Feni University, spoke on the recent accomplishments of the FU Law students in passing the Bar Council exams and exhorted the students to maintain their attention on the given instructions.
Dr. A.S.M.T. Ullah Chowdhury Bayzied, one of the trustees of the university and the event's chief guest, commented on the prospects of the legal profession compared to other autonomous professions like medicine and engineering and praised how law can be used in many different facets of daily life.
Although he himself is a law graduate from the University of Dhaka and a former law practitioner, the prominent speaker of the session, Mr. Abu Salim Mahmud-ul Hasan, Deputy Commissioner & District Magistrate, Feni, discussed the opportunities and difficulties of being a lawyer with his life experiences. He emphasised that knowledge and skills were the primary determinants of success in the workforce and counseled individuals desiring to join the bar to complement and enhance their seniors with the necessary abilities. He also underlined the relevance of legal knowledge for various professions.
The session was chaired and concluded by Mr. Mohammad Moniruzzaman, Assistant Professor & Chairman, Department of Law, Feni University. He said that students needed to be persistent and passionate about their work in order to excel in their particular fields.
