Man gets death sentence for raping daughter

A man was sentenced to death today for raping his own daughter in Rajshahi two years back.

The convict was also fined Tk one lakh, public prosecutor Rashed-un-Nabi Ahsan said.

Rajshahi's Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Mansur Alam pronounced the verdict, reports our staff correspondent.

According to the case documents, the man pointed a knife at the victim's throat and raped her when his wife was out of the house on May 14, 2018,

His wife came to know of the matter after five months.

On February 15, 2019, the victim's mother filed a case against the man with Rajpara Police Station.
