KOTONOHA NO NIWA

Kotonoha no Niwa is a 2013 Japanese anime film produced by CoMix Wave Films and directed by Makoto Shinkai. The story begins with Takao Akizuki, a 15 year-old-school boy, who wants to be a shoemaker. He lives with his melodramatic mother and older brother. He had aspired to become a shoemaker ever since he got enthralled by a pair of shoes that his mother received as a gift. But the rest of the world treated his dreams as a joke.
One rainy morning, he skips classes and goes to a park to sketch shoe designs and meets a mysterious, well-dressed young woman, who is sitting on the bench with a drink in her hand in the drizzle. They don't talk to each other, but when the rain stops the woman gives him a Tanka and bids him farewell. They continue to encounter each other in the park on rainy mornings and they grow close, though they never talk about their private lives, and don't even learn each other's names.
Takao gets encouraged to make his first pair of shoes, thanks to the woman's support, and he decides to give her the shoes as gift. When Takao measures her feet, she admits that she needs to learn how to walk on her own. After the rainy season ends they decide to go back to their normal lives but deep inside both want the rain to come back. Takao works at a restaurant throughout summer. One morning at school he meets the woman, who is surrounded by anxious and relieved students. Takao's friends inform him that she's Miss (Yukari) Yukino, their teacher who had been absent from school. She was stressed as a student had a crush on her, and the student's girlfriend spread mean rumours about her. So Yukari decided to avoid work and retreat to the park where she met Takao, hoping she would learn to overcome her loneliness. It angers Takao; he rushes to that girl's classroom and starts a fight with her. Takao strikes her across the face, but is soon beaten by her companions who mock him and accuse him of falling in love with Yukari.
Takao heads back to the park and meets Yukari, and greets her with the Tanko. Yukari apologises as she believed that he would figure out that she was a literature teacher. She gets concerned about his injuries, and suddenly there comes a rain storm and they get soaked. Takao heads to Yukari's apartment, and the two spend the afternoon together and realise that they had never felt happier. Takao confesses his love for her, but Yukari tells him rudely that she's moving back to her hometown and to address her as Miss Yukari. Hurt and rejected, Takao leaves. Yukari starts to cry as she realises her mistake. She runs after Takao to find him. But can she? Watch and find out.
