'Killer' arrested in Bogra

Police on Thursday night arrested one of the two alleged killers of Asaduzzaman alias Sona Mia, a fourth-year English student of Bogra's Government Shah Sultan College, in Gazaria of Gabtoli upazila.

Monir Hossain, 18, yesterday confessed to a court that some youths who every day play football on Altafunnessa Playground in Jaleshwaritola had beaten Rakib Hossain a few days ago soon after he mugged one in the area. For taking revenge, Rakib with his accomplice, Monir, stabbed Sona Mia on Wednesday morning as he went to practice football on the playground, assuming that he could be one of the youths.

Police recovered two knives from Monir, which were used to stab Sona Mia. Rakib, 20, son of Rana Mia of Chelopara, the main accused in the murder case, is absconding.
