- Pakistan National Awami Party President Khan Abdul Wali Khan issues a statement in Peshawar condemning the plot to assasinate Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib and calls upon the government to unearth the conspirators involved.
- President Yahya Khan expresses relief because the plot to assassinate Bangabandhu failed. In a letter to Bangabandhu, Yahya says he is hurt to have learnt of the attempt. He thanked the almighty to have saved Bangabandhu.
