Innovative way of cheating in exams!

That Bengali mind is highly innovative has been proved once again. But it was done for a bad purpose. Nowhere in the world perhaps has IT, particularly cell phones, been so imaginatively used than that we saw being done in admission tests of Dhaka and Jagannath universities on Friday. Not only were the question papers leaked out but in a matter of less than 15 minutes the answers were also supplied to the candidates who were roped in by this gang and charged a good sum of one lakh and fifty thousand taka. And this was done allegedly with the collusion of a teacher, invigilators and some other members of the university staff.  
The moral degradation that has led to what we witnessed is shocking. That teachers would lure aspiring university students to be a part of cheats and swindlers to get admission at the highest seat of learning is indeed frightening. We are glad that the team of fraudsters has been arrested. However, resorting to fraudulence means is not new, and some have indeed made their way into the universities through these means. One wonders how many, because those that have will infect his or her colleagues in whatever profession they choose to join after their university stint.  
We understand that vacancies at private universities are very limited. And sometimes the urge of young impressionable youngsters to get admitted may get the better of their judgment. And it is for the authorities to be vigilant against such fraud gangs. We would want the scamsters to be made examples of.
