No chance of famine as enough grains in stock: Food minister
Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder today (November 5, 2022) said the country has enough food grains in stock and there will be no possibility of a famine.
The minister said this while addressing the triennial council of Bahadurpur Union-8 Mohila Awami League in Niyamatpur upazila of Naogaon as the chief guest.
No person died due to food shortage during the Covid-19 period, Sadhan Chandra said.
He said the people of this country were only deprived from 1947 to 1971. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman brought independence to this deprived nation. He started the work of rebuilding the almost destroyed country. At that time, he was killed along with most of his family by the anti-liberation killers.
Niyamatpur upazila Awami League President Nadira Begum presided over the council.
