7 Covid-19 deaths in 24 hours, positivity rate 1.53%
Seven people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours (till 8 am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of deaths has now reached 27,841, and the death rate stands at 1.77 percent.
At least 306 new infections were recorded in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 15,68,563, added the release.
The current positivity rate is 1.53 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 15.26 percent.
A total of 19,951 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8am today).
At least 288 Covid-19 patients have recovered in this period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,32,468 and the recovery rate at 97.70 percent.
Among the seven deceased, three were men and four women. Of them one was within 21-30 years old; two were between 41-50; one was within 51-60; one was was between 61-70; and two were within 71-80 years old, added the release.
