6 Covid-19 deaths, 215 new infections recorded in 24 hours

Six people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00am today, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths has now reached 27,901, and the mortality rate stands at 1.78 percent.

At least 215 new infections were recorded in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 15,71,228, added the release.

The current test-positivity rate is 1.28 percent while the total infection rate stands at 14.98 percent.

A total of 16,812 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8am today).

At least 209 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the same period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,35,034 and the recovery rate at 97.70 percent.

Of the six deceased, three were men and three were women. Of them, one was between 21-30 years old; two each were aged between 51-60 and 71-80 respectively; one was between 91-100 years old, added the release.
