3 Covid-19 deaths recorded, positivity rate now 1.12%

Three people died of Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 27,890, and the death rate stands at 1.78 percent.

A total of 17,446 samples were tested across the country and at least 196 new infections were recorded in this period, taking the total number of people infected to 1,570,681, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 1.12 percent while the overall positivity rate stands at 15.04 percent.

At least 178 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 1,534,478 and the recovery rate is 97.70 percent. 

Among the three deceased, one was men and two were women.

Of them, one was between 41-50 years old, and two were between 61-70, added the release.
