Three persons have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00am today, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths has now reached 27,986 and the death rate stands at 1.77 percent.

At least 261 new infections were recorded in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 15,76,827, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 1.24 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.43 percent.

A total of 21,057 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8 am today).

At least 313 Covid-19 patients have recovered in this period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,41,661 and the recovery rate at 97.77 percent.

Of the three deceased, one was a male and two females. Of them, one was between 31-40 years old, one was within 51-60, and one was between 71-80 years old, added the release.
