GP's Tanveer to join Uninor

Uninor, Telenor Group's telecom venture in India, yesterday appointed Tanveer Mohammad, chief technology officer of Grameenphone, as its chief operating officer.
Tanveer joined Grameenphone in 1997 and has been the chief technology officer of the Telenor subsidiary in Bangladesh since July 2010.
“I'm going to take up the new role by mid-August,” said Tanveer who will replace Ruza Sabanovic at Uninor.
“With his proven competence in leading bold and transformative initiatives in network and technology in Bangladesh's largest mobile operator, Tanveer joins us at Uninor as we are setting the stage for some bold growth and expansion in India,” Uninor CEO Morten Karlsen Sorby said in a statement.
