Govt pushing nation towards civil war: BNP
The government is pushing the nation towards a civil war by holding a "voter-less" national elections, BNP leader Osman Faruk said today.
"You (government) still have time to stop this farcical election and hold a constructive dialogue," Faruk, an adviser to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, said at a press briefing at his Gulshan residence around 5:30pm.
People will not go to the polling centres to cast their votes, the opposition leader said.
Condemning the "house arrest" of the opposition chief, he said it has exposed the autocratic behaviour of the government.
"This act of government has proved that there is no democracy in the country," he added.
