Noisy Iran fans hamper Ronaldo’s sleep ahead of big game

Iran fans did their best to ruin Cristiano Ronaldo and other Portuguese players sleep before the crucial third-round Group Stage match against Iran.

Iran could still make it to the Round of 16 and they have Portugal and their superstar player Cristiano Ronaldo in front of them, who they have to beat. Iran did all they could and formed a resolute defence against Spain but La Roja won the tight match thanks to a deflected goal off the knees of Diego Costa.

Iran fans knew that stopping star man Cristiano Ronaldo would be key to Iran’s success and they set about doing something for their team.

Iran's fans took to the streets on Sunday night, having apparently discovered the Seleccao's team hotel, and set about making all the noise they could.

Skipper Cristiano Ronaldo sought to halt the chanting supporters as he was forced to come to his bedroom window and silence his taunters by gesturing that he needed to fall asleep. That was little concern of the singing Iranians, however, all they cared about was that their plan was working.

Ronaldo's plea fell into deaf ears as the fans carried on drumming and chanting their way through the night.
