Increased odds, earthquakes and a holy visit

The Mexican team have won over a few more people after their World Cup win over reigning champions Germany and their talent is finally being noticed as the bookmaker's have placed them as favourites to top Group F, reports El Universal. Their odds of winning the group have increased almost two times, while bets on them finishing second have been nearly halved.

Hirving Lonzano's winner against Germany led to such raucous celebrations back home that seismic detectors in Mexico City registered an earthquake, which a geological institute said may have been caused by 'massive jumps' across the city.

There was also the matter of a special visit before the match as Jesus Barba, a priest from Jalisco, came to visit the team and conduct a mass ahead of the encounter.
