Egypt manager Hector Cuper is optimistic as he said his star man Mohamed Salah is fit for the match against Russia but also insisted that it still depends on a late physical test ahead of the clash.
Salah did not feature in Egypt’s opener in the World Cup against Uruguay as Cuper avoided risking his asset even though Salah was declared fit to play by The Egyptian Football Association ahead of the game. Egypt went on to lose the game 1-0.
“Salah is fit. In the previous match against Uruguay we thought he was fit also but we always draw up a last physical test," Cuper explained.
“Today we'll have an important test for him to see how he does. I think he will be fit to play. He is an important part of our team.
“Tomorrow I am optimistic he'll be able to play.” Cuper concluded.
