FIFA 15 Review [OLD GEN]

Platforms: PS3, XBox 360
As most of you may know, FIFA 15 has two versions: new gen—the PS4, XBox One and the PC and one for the old gen—PS3 and XBox 360. When FIFA made the announcement, I had written off the PS3 and 360 version as a rehash of FIFA 14 with some slight tweaks and mods as was the case with FIFA 10 on PC which was horrible for the PC but a brilliant, brilliant game for the PS3 and 360.
Turns out I was wrong. The game has a lot more to offer with most of the changes coming in the gameplay.
The game is more fluid and offers plenty of incentives to attacking players to play the beautiful game the way they want. Dribbling is highly rewarding with exceptionally good close control. On the other hand, defending can be a real nightmare with attackers predicting and avoiding tackles and managing to fool defenders too often. This makes for high scoring affairs with human players opting to go for all-out attacks and only looking to outscore the opponent. Attack, attack and attack. Defending is just not rewarding enough.
Visually, the game seems more or less the same as last year with all the brilliant animations and graphics going to the new gen FIFA. I actually found the graphics unappealing even considering the backdated hardware.
Other improvements include better keeper reactions, improved ball physics, more pleasing player reactions and other presentational features as well as the commentary. Oh, and the online mode 'Pro Clubs' is absent, for some strange reason.
Verdict: FIFA 15 old gen is not a bad game to have. The updated roster and the more enjoyable attacking gameplay will be reason enough for a lot of FIFA faithfuls who cannot afford new gen consoles to grab this one.
Rating: 7/10. Bendtner would play this game. Get it.
