Shahiduzzaman Selim replaces Afzal Hossain in Shihab Shaheen's film
Distinguished actor Afzal Hossain and acclaimed director Shihab Shaheen were initially set to join forces for the first time in the web-film titled, "Baba, Someone Following Me". However, due to Afzal's unexpected illness, he is unable to participate in the shooting, and prominent actor Shahiduzzaman Selim will step in to replace him.
The director confirmed the recent development to The Daily Star.
Drawing from real-life events in the director's personal experiences, the project's filming commenced a month ago in Australia, featuring an essential role portrayed by Tasnia Farin. Nevertheless, upon returning to Bangladesh, as the shoot was about to begin with Afzal Hossain, an unforeseen turn of events unfolded. On September 5, the very day scheduled for shooting in the country, Afzal Hossain was hospitalised, delaying the production.
Although Afzal Hossain returned home on September 11, he received medical advice mandating full rest. Consequently, Afzal proposed that Shihab Shaheen consider an alternative actor for the role. Consequently, the director made the decision to proceed with the film's shooting with Shahiduzzaman Selim stepping into the role.
Now the actor will play the role of the father (Shihab Shaheen) in the film and Tasnia Farin will take on the character of his daughter. The film also stars Irfan Sajjad, and Shohel Mondol, amongst others.
The shooting of the next lot of the Binge original web-film will begin on October 8.
