Mafia: a web series and its inside stories

Celebrated filmmaker Shaheen Sumon concocts love and underworld into his new venture "Mafia", a web series which will soon available for viewing in 150 episodes. The movie is currently being shot at the Film Valley in Manikganj. Scripted by the director himself, the screenplay was done by Delwar Hossain Dil.

Renowned faces like Zahid Hasan, Anisur Rahman Milon, Shamol Mawla, Raha Tanha, Mou Khan, Orsha will be seen in the film. Mahiya Mahi, Misha Sawdagar, Emon and Anchal Ankhi have only recently been added to the cast.

Director Shaheen Sumon told The Daily Star today that the story of "Mafia" revolves around Dhaka's underworld and its mafias. He claims a uniqueness in his series as he has combined the best of both movies and daily soaps, and they would do justice bringing out the essence and stories of the dark nook and crannies of Dhaka.

Mahiya Mahi said that she has only started off with the shooting of "Mafia" after a long break, and that it gives her immense happiness working under a talented director like Shaheen Sumon.

"I have played the role of a swag 90's youth and this is the first time I am full-fledged sharing a screen with Mahi. I am hoping we are doing a good job and our viewers can expect to be entertained, well," says Emon.
