John Krasinski cast as Superman in ‘DC League of Super-Pets’

"The Office" and "A Quiet Place" star John Krasinski will voice Superman in the upcoming "DC League of Super-Pets" film.
"Always wanted to do a buddy movie with [The Rock]," Krasinski tweeted to accompany a picture of Krypto and Superman flying side-by-side. "Well, these are the roles we were born to play! (FYI... DJ's the one with the tongue)."

Krasinski was one of several actors cast in mystery Super-Pets roles in June, along with Kate McKinnon, Vanessa Bayer, Natasha Lyonne, Diego Luna and Keanu Reeves. They joined the previously announced Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as Krypto the Superdog and Kevin Hart as the Bat-Hound. Three months later, Marc Maron joined the cast as Lex Luthor.

"DC League of Super-Pets" is loosely inspired by the "Legion of Super-Pets", which debuted in 1962's Adventure Comics #293 by Jerry Siegel, Curt Swan and George Klein.
The animated film was announced in 2018, with Jared Stern both penning and directing the feature.
