Inaugural edition of Youth Bangla International Film Festival begins

Youth-based cultural organisation, Youth Bangla has arranged an international film festival titled 'Youth Bangla International Film Festival'.

The arrangement has been dedicated to the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and golden jubilee of Bangladesh.

An event took place at capital's Uttara, announcing the festival which will begin from December 10 until the December 16. A combination of 60 full-fledged and short national and international films will be screened at the festival.

Sima Hamid, Head of Youth Bangla Cultural Foundation, conveyed the details at a press conference held today.

The venue of the event has been set at the Theatre Hall of International Hope School Uttara, consisting of 450 seats.

The open-for-all festival will start from 3pm, which will run until 9pm during the festival.

Eminent cultural personality Gazi Rakayet, who is also the festival director, attended the event, alongside noted media personalities Dilara Zaman, Shampa Reza, Sharmili Ahmed, Shimul Mustapha, S I Tutul and Nipun.

"We hope to create a bridge among our emerging filmmakers in the international arena," said Gazi Rakayet.
