Noted television, film, and theatre actor Shamim Visti shared a wonderful bond with his guru, the late Kayes Chowdhury. Merely hours after his guru's demise yesterday, Visti passed away due to a heart attack. He had been feeling low since he got the news of Chowdhury's passing.

The Guru-Shishya duo were laid to rest in the Martyred Intellectuals' Graveyard at Mirpur after Jummah prayers today.

Chowdhury was the playwright and director of BTV's famous tele-fiction "Na" starring Tania Ahmed, Tony Dias, and Shomu Chowdhury.

He also directed popular tele-fictions such as "Sopno Ebong Tumi" and "Tritiyo Noyon."

On the other hand, Visti was a member of Natyachakra, one of the oldest theater troupes in the country and had appeared in their popular production "Bhoddornok" multiple times. He was also a member of Obhinoy Shilpi Shongho and had contested in the last presidential elections.
