Bangladeshi short film 'City of Light' shines, wins award in India 

"City of Light" portrays a compelling narrative that sheds light on the often unseen darker side of Bengal's urban life, particularly the marginalised women living within it.

 

Bangladeshi short film, "City of Light" has bagged the 'Hrithik Ghatak Silver Award' at the sixth South Asian Short Film Festival organised by the Federation of Film Societies of India. The film, directed by Shahadat Russell, stood out among the selected short films and documentaries showcased during the five-day event held at Kolkata's Nandan. 

 

Delighted by the recognition, director Shahadat Russell expressed his gratitude, stating that each award not only inspires and empowers him for future projects but also creates a sense of responsibility to strive for even greater excellence. He emphasised that receiving the award named after the esteemed Hrithik Ghatak was a moment of immense pride and joy. Furthermore, Russell credited the film's success to the collective efforts of the entire team, including the producers, artists, and everyone who trusted him.
