Drug addict man 'kills wife for more dowry'

A drug addict allegedly smothered his wife with a pillow at Mothurkandi village in Bishamvarpur upazila of Sunamganj on Thursday night.
Al-Amin, a stonemason, was arrested the same night.
Al-Amin claimed that Halima Begum, 22, committed suicide but Halima's father Abdul Latif alleged that Al-Amin killed Halima for dowry.
Latif said Al-Amin took properties of Tk 1 lakh and two kanthas of land during their marriage and used to torture Halima for more dowries.
Being informed by locals, police recovered the body and sent it to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
