Driver murdered after abduction

A battery-run auto-rickshaw driver was found dead at Pagla village of Santhia upazila in Pabna yesterday morning two days after he had been abducted.
The miscreants hanged Md Russel Sheikh, 23, son of Dulal Sheikh of Dulai village in the upazila, with a shirt from a tree in a field, said police.
Russel was picked up from the village while he was returning home on Wednesday, said Santhia Police Station Officer-in-charge Shahed Mahamud. His vehicle was also snatched, he said.
Following a general diary filed with the police station by the family, police detained three co-villagers Abdus Samad, Ashraf Ali and Md Abdullah with whom the victim had enmity, the OC added. Based on the detainees' information, police recovered the auto-rickshaw from the village yesterday.
