Daylong hartal in Rangpur Tuesday

Main opposition BNP will enforce a daylong hartal (shutdown) in Rangpur district tomorrow protesting the visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the district that day.
Shamsuzzaman Shamu, joint convener of the district unit BNP, announced the strike at a press briefing held at a city hotel around 2:30pm, reports our Rangpur correspondent.
Hasina, also the Awami League president, is scheduled to address several wayside meetings in Pirganj upazila of the district tomorrow as part of her election campaign for the January 5 general polls.
