Youth shot dead in clash in Shariatpur
A youth was shot to death in a clash yesterday between two groups of people of Jajira's Naodoba union in Shariatpur over a land dispute.
The deceased was identified as Farhad Mollick, 28, hailing from Taher Mollick Kandi village in Jajira's Naodoba area.
"Farhad Mollick was shot to death after two groups of people armed with local firearms clashed over a land dispute at Taher Mollick Kandi village of Naodoba union in Jajira around 11:15am," Azharul Islam Sarker, officer-in-charge of Jajira police station, told The Daily Star.
His body was sent to Shariatpur Sadar Hospital for autopsy, he said.
"A murder case is being filed and four people have been arrested in connection with the incident till 11:30pm," the OC added.
"Three people were brought to Jajira Upazila Health Complex with gunshot injuries. Of them, Farhad Mollick died of excessive bleeding. Two other patients -- Didar Munshi and Rezaul Mollick -- were shifted to Dhaka for better treatment," Dr Mahmudul Hasan, Jajira upazila health and family planning officer, said.
