Woman allegedly killed by husband in Dhaka’s Hazaribagh
A woman was allegedly killed by her husband in Dhaka's Hazaribagh area early today.
The deceased was identified as Sajeda Begum Saju (20), wife of a fish trader Titu Mia. Titu is on the run since the incident.
Farhad Hossain, elder brother of the victim said his sister had been living in a tin-shed room with her husband since they got married a year ago.
As the next door neighbour Tania Akter went to call Sajeda forsehri, she found the door open but the light in the room was switched off. As she turned on the light, she saw Sajeda lying unconscious in bed. Her husband was not there.
Tania along with others took her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Sajeda dead around 6:30am, Farhad said.
"We are suspecting Titu killed my sister. We want justice," he added.
Farhad said "Sajeda came to our house after a quarrel-- on a trivial issue -- with her husband day before yesterday. Titu took her home around 11:00pm yesterday, just hours before the killing."
Kausar Ahmed Bhuiyan, sub-inspector of Hazaribagh Police Station, said "Neighbours last saw Titu smoking around 1:00am…We are suspecting that she was suffocated with a pillow."
