Two employees of Begum Rokeya University expelled for irregularities
An official of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) was expelled for his alleged involvement in corruption in a special project.
Jahangir Alam, executive engineer of the university, was expelled following a recommendation by the investigation committee. Earlier he was suspended on March 26, 2017 on allegation of irregularities in tender and other documents of a development project.
Meanwhile, the authorities expelled another employee and suspended two others over irregularities in the university's recruiting process, our Dinajpur correspondent reports.
The decision was taken at a syndicate meeting in Dhaka's Liaison Office on Sunday, a member of the syndicate, seeking anonymity, confirmed this.
Begum Rokeya University Teachers' Association General Secretary Tabiur Rahman Prodhan also confirmed the development to our Dinajpur correspondent.
The university's sociology department section officer Moniruzzaman Palash and Bangabandhu Hall computer operator Sher-e Zaman Samrat were suspended for showing fake documents in recruiting process.
Master roll employee – Gulshan Ahmed Shaon – was expelled for the same incident.
