Tk 3.77 crore missing from Dhaka Bank’s Bangshal branch, 2 arrested

A total of Tk 3.77 crore has been missing from the vault of the Dhaka Bank's Bangshal branch. Police have arrested two officials of the bank in this connection.

"The manager of the bank complained to us last night that their cash in-charge had removed of Tk 3 crore 77 lakh and 66 thousand from the Bangshal branch vault of the bank. Two officials Imran and Rifat were arrested in this connection," Bangshal Police Station Inspector (investigation) Mir Rezaul Islam told The Daily Star today.

The police official also said that the internal audit of the bank branch had caught on to the matter.

"There will be a corruption case in this regard. The accused will be handed over to the Anti-Corruption Commission and it will investigate the matter," said Inspector Rezaul.
