Man arrested for killing wife in Sylhet

A man was arrested today for allegedly stabbing his wife to death at Kandigaon village of Golapganj upazila in Sylhet.

The deceased, Lucky Begum (23), and her husband, Dana Mia (34), were having domestic issues for months. Lucky had earlier left for her parental home over an altercation but came back after a village arbitration settled their dispute, said Harunur Rashid Chowdhury, officer-in-charge of Golapganj Police Station, quoting locals.

"Following another altercation this afternoon, Dana allegedly stabbed Lucky. Later, neighbours rescued her and took her to a hospital where the on-duty doctor declared her dead," the OC said.

A case is currently being processed against the accused, reports our Sylhet correspondent, quoting the OC.
