Expat killed in Faridpur

Miscreants killed an expatriate, visiting from Italy, in Faridpur's Bhanga upazila last night.
The deceased was identified as Masud Rana (49), reports our local correspondent quoting Syed Lutfur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Bhanga Police Station.
A gang of 12-15 miscreants attacked Masud with sharp weapons inside a tea stall in Nowapara Bus Stand area around 8pm, the OC said.
They stabbed Masud indiscriminately and fled the spot. Later, locals rushed him to the upazila health complex where doctors pronounced him dead, the police official added.
Masud settled in Italy with his wife and children several years ago. He had come to visit Bangladesh recently and was scheduled to leave for Italy on April 20, the OC said adding that the body was sent to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College for autopsy.
Police are yet to make any arrest in this connection.
