Two jhut (garments wastage) godowns were gutted in a fire in Sadar upazila of Narayanganj tonight.
The fire broke out at a jhut godown in Jalkuri Patti area around 8:30pm and it soon engulfed another godown, said Abdul Al Arefin, deputy assistant director of Fire Service and Civil Defence in Narayanganj.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. On information, five units of fire-fighting rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control around 10:00pm, our Narayanganj correspondent reports quoting the fire service official.
No casualties were reported in the fire, added the official.
However, the reason behind the fire and the extent of losses from it could not be known immediately.
