Two cousins drown

Two cousins drowned in a pond in Bancharampur upazila yesterday.

The deceased were identified as Aysha Akter, 7, daughter of Babul Mia, and her cousin Afrin Akter, 5, daughter of Faruk Mia of Durgapur village.

Police and family members said the girls went to take bath in a local pond yesterday afternoon and at one stage, they slipped into the pond and drowned.
