Two Bogra Jamaat leaders held with 35 crude bombs

Two Jamaat leaders were arrested with crude bombs at their houses in Chawk Lokman area of Bogra town yesterday.
The arrestees are Golam Rabbani, 61, a member of Jamaat's central committee and ex-ameer of the party's district unit, and Nazimuddin, 58, general secretary of Jamaat district unit.
Law enforcers raided the area at around 12:30pm and arrested the Jamaat leaders. They seized 20 crude bombs from Rabbani's residence and 15 crude bombs from Nazimuddin's residence.
The Jamaat leaders are accused in the case for vandalising vehicles in the town on March 3, 2013.
Contacted, Senior ASP Gaziur Rahman said a case was filed against the Jamaat leaders with Shahjahanpur Police Station under the Explosive Substances Act.
Away in Dinajpur, A court here yesterday sent 11 Jamaat-Shibir men to jail, rejecting their bail prayer.
They are Md Jalil, 39, Md Farid, 28, Md Baset 32, Md Rashidul Islam, 35, Sohel Rana, 24, Daud Ibrahim, 35, Aslam Mia, 40, Rabbani, 42, Habibur Rahman, 38, Md Rony 22 and Foyzur Ali.
Court police said they are accused in the case for attacking a polling centre in Chirirbandar upazila of the district during the parliamentary elections on January 5 last year.
The Jamaat-Shibir men surrendered before the Senior Judicial magistrate's Court in the afternoon and sought bail. Judge Md Touhidul Islam Chowdhury rejected their bail prayer and sent them to jail.
