Three girls drown in Gaibandha

Three college girls, including two siblings, drowned in the Jamuna river near Kalurpara area in Gaibandha's Saghata upazila yesterday.

The deceased are Souda Haque Ritu, 20, her sister Sarah Haque Prity, 18, daughters of late Saidur Rahman of Babupara area in Rangpur city, and their cousin Fatema Akter, 18, daughter of Rana Mia of the same area.

After the Eid, they trio, also student of different colleges in Rangpur, came to visit their uncle's house at Kachua village in Saghata upazila.

Officer-in-Charge of Saghata Police Station Belal Hossain said the three girls drowned while they were taking a bath in the Jamuna river.
