Some local politicians in Satkhira tried to divert food relief, claims German envoy
German Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Fahrenholtz has alleged that some local politicians in Satkhira tried to divert food relief for the poor.
"I am disappointed to learn that some local politicians at a low level tried to divert some of our food relief for their own purposes. But we implemented the project properly and the food packages reached only needy people," he said in a tweet yesterday.

The ambassador shared some photos around five days ago mentioning that the German embassy provided emergency basic food support to "6000+ families whose livelihood was destroyed by climate change, flooding" in Satkhira.
