Shimulia-Kathalbari ferry services resume after 12 hours

Ferry services on the Shimulia-Kathalbari route resumed on a limited scale this morning after twelve hours of disruption since yesterday afternoon due to poor navigability.
The ferry operation began at 6:00am, said M Shafiqul Islam, assistant general manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC).

The shipping ministry has issued an instruction to the concerned authority against operating ferries during the night until further order.
The BIWTC official did say the ferry operation will start in full swing as soon as the dredging work by the BIWTA is complete.
