An inspector of police has died with Covid-19 infection at Central Police Hospital in Dhaka early today.
Deceased Suman Ali was the inspector (investigation) of Baraigram Police Station in Natore.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. He was admitted on August 2 after he tested positive for coronavirus. He was later put on life support after his condition deteriorated, says a press release issued by Police Headquarters.
With him, at least 67 members of Bangladesh Police died with Covid-19 infection while discharging their duties across the country.
Hailing from Chapainawabganj's Shibganj upazila, Suman joined Bangladesh Police as a sub-inspector in 2008. He left behind his wife and a daughter.
The body was sent to his village home for burial.
